Clubs

At Lyons Hall Primary School we offer a range additional extra curricular activities such as music lessons, swimming, school trips and various before and after school clubs.

Breakfast Club

As you are aware we hold a breakfast club which is open for all of our children to attend which runs from  7:45am-8:40am- available to all Lyons Hall School children at a cost of £2.50 from September 2023.

For the cost of £2.50 a day, the children are given a choice of toast and cereals and milk, orange or apple juice. On a Wednesday we also offer Beans on Toast and on a Friday we offer the children egg, bacon or sausage in a bap. Once the children have eaten their breakfast the children have a choice of different activities which include drawing, board games, lego, duplo, dolls and puzzles. At 8.40am KS2 children are sent to the KS2 classes for registration and at 8.50am KS1 and EY children are taken straight to their class. Please note that even if your child chooses not to eat breakfast with us the payment of £2.50 is still required.

If you wish for your child to attend breakfast club please email your requirements to the Breakfast Club email address – breakfastclub@lyonshall.org.uk.  We will only reply back to you by return email if we do not have any space available.  For those children who are attending regularly please book via Miss Reeves when you arrive at Breakfast Club next time you are coming in.

Payment for your child’s breakfast club can be made online through your child’s PMX account under the breakfast club tab in chunks of £12.50 or pay on the day direct to Miss Reeves.

In the interest of children’s safety at breakfast club, please ensure that you and your child register with Miss Reeves on arrival and that all children wishing to have breakfast arrive at breakfast club before 8:20am every morning.

Please also note that any children attending morning PE clubs must bring a drink and a snack with them to eat after the club has finished and not eat in Breakfast Club before their PE club starts.

If your child needs to have medication administered within the school day can you please complete a yellow medical form which will be available to you from Miss Reeves if needed. Once completed these forms and medication will then get passed to the school office on that day for them to administer accordingly.

Swimming Lessons

As part of the curriculum swimming lessons are offered to all children in Years 3 and  5  as we would like all children to be able to swim efficiently before they leave Lyons Hall Primary School in Year 6. These sessions take place on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoon running for approximately 7 – 10 weeks for each year group. They are held at our local swimming pool in Braintree and the children are taken to and from the swimming pool by a local reputable coach company each week.

A letter will be sent out at least two weeks prior to lessons taking place detailing which year group will be swimming, dates of lessons, the cost of these lessons and what the children are required to wear and take with them. Information regarding lessons will also be advertised on our weekly newsletter.

Sporting Clubs

Lyons Hall Primary School offer many sporting clubs to the children throughout the year for all year groups. These are as follows: Football for Boys and Girls, Netball, Tag Rugby, Badminton, Dancing, SCS Football, Cricket, Athletics, Gymnastics, Rounders, Cross Country and Multi Skills.
